Tervo - Street Art Talk
Event description
Ipswich Festivals presents SPARK2024 - Tervo.
The Man, the myth, the mullet... meet Tervo. A local artist and resident who embodies a dynamic blend of roles: from being a devoted educator to a prolific muralist and advocate for street art. Join him as he shares his deep knowledge and passion for this vibrant yet often overlooked art form.
Tervo's journey is a testament to his adventurous spirit and willingness to embrace opportunities, evident in his diverse pursuits - from teaching high school to creating fine art and advocating for public art forms, most notably, as the artist behind Brisbane City Council's Legal Street Art Practice Walls.
Having honed his skills through graffiti, without formal art training, Tervo has earned recognition as a finalist in the Brisbane Portrait Prize. Now, he seeks to give back to the graffiti community that shaped him, aiming to elevate vibrant graffiti culture within the broader arts landscape.
This talk has been subsidised as part of Ipswich City Council's Creative Industries Action Plan
