Description

Discover whether your idea has what it takes, and learn how to get it there.

Every writer has ideas. But how do you know if yours is strong enough to sustain a full project? In this practical workshop, screenwriter and producer Tristram Baumber walks you through the core questions that separate a promising concept from one that's truly ready to develop. Whether you're working on a screenplay, novel, stage play, podcast or game, you'll leave with a clearer understanding of what makes an idea work - and a roadmap for making yours stronger.

Learning outcomes

As part of this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Identify the core elements that make an idea strong and sustainable

  • Test your concept against key questions used by industry professionals

  • Understand what makes a premise original, distinctive and marketable

  • Develop your idea into a clearer, more compelling concept

  • Apply premise-testing techniques across different formats and genres
