Tetra Pak Printing Workshop

Price $65 AUD Get tickets

Event description

Learn to create your own prints by recycling Tetra Pak cartons suchas juice and long life milk cartons. A fun, simple way to make your own printing plates and produce amazing intaglio prints.

In this workshop you will learn to design and create a plate using etching needles, pens and other tools to draw and scratch into the shiny surface of the carton, cut the plate into shapes using scissors, and score/peel away layers using a craft knife to create dark tones. You will be guided through the processes of preparing the printing paper, inking the Tetra Pak plate using water wash up inks, and printing your plate using a small press. Participants will take away a set of prints on quality printmaking paper.

All materials and equipment are provided. No prior experience is necessary.

Participants need to bring ideas or images for inspiration, an apron or paint shirt (it can get a bit messy) and wear closed in shoes.

Plate/image size up to 20x13 cm

There will be a short lunch break - please bring your own water bottle and lunch. Tea and coffee provided

This workshop is suitable for adults/18 years old and above.
