About the session:

Connect with the trans and gender diverse disabled community! A relaxed peer space where you can share experiences and make friends.

  • You do not need to have a diagnosis or NDIS plan to attend. 
  • Face masks are mandatory and free N95 and K94 masks are provided.
  • This event is located at Kathleen Syme Library, the room is called Youth Space.
  • Weekly on a Tuesday at 5pm - 7pm.
  • Please register prior to the event to secure a spot.


What will happen?

This event is creating a relaxed peer support space where people can chat and exist together. There won’t be any official sitting in a circle and introducing ourselves, and our facilitators will be there to help you get what you want out of the session.


About the facilitator: 

Ezra (he/they) is a disabled, trans, queer and neurodivergent peer support worker, facilitator and lived experience advocate.


Cost: This event is free for trans and gender diverse people with disability aged 16+


Accessibility 

  • The venue is wheelchair accessible.
  • There are all gender accessible bathrooms.
  • A quiet room is available for a sensory break, prayer or meditation.
  • Conversation cards will be available to help you break the ice.
  • Communication cards (red, yellow and green cards) are available to support non/semi-verbal people to participate.
  • Facilitators are around to support you at any time.

We acknowledge that COVID-19 has an ongoing impact on all members of our communities, especially our immunocompromised and disabled communities.

Below are the strategies we are implementing at this event to increase our COVID-19 safety and build a culture of community care.

  • Free N95 and K94 masks are available and wearing is mandatory - let’s keep each other safe!

  • Air Purification

What can you do to increase COVID-19 safety at our events?

  • Complete a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test prior to attending any of our events.
  • Feel like you are coming down with a cold or flu? Please stay home and cancel your booking by emailing us.
