TGDI+ Pool Day!

This summer we're bringing back our pool day for transgender, gender diverse, and intersex communities and our allies! Enjoy swimming, sunshine, and hanging out with community at the Canberra Olympic Pool with A Gender Agenda and friends.

Our December Youth Point and Kids Point are joining us for Pool Day! Free tickets are available for under 25s. Thank you to the Amplify Pride Fund for supporting our Youth Connections Project. 

We have booked the pool from 2:30-7 pm, so only community members and our allies will be in the space. The outdoor space closes at 6 pm and the indoor pool closes at 7 pm.

We'll be hosting a BBQ from 5-6 pm in the outdoor picnic area, with sausages, vege sausages, onion, gluten free and gluten bread, tomato and BBQ sauce, and drinks available. This BBQ is collecting gold coin donations to go towards Encampment 2024! A LGBTIQA+ camp for young people aged 13-17 years! You must either bring coins on the day or pre-purchase when purchasing your ticket. You are welcome to bring your own picnic dinner too.

If you would like to support this event, consider booking a ticket, which is only the price of pool entry, or donating to the event. This helps us open this event to more people and supports events like this in the future!

This event is open to transgender, gender diverse, and intersex people and our invited allies. Cisgender/endosex folk who have been invited by a member of the trans, gender diverse or intersex community are welcome to attend. This is an autonomous space for the safety and comfort of the trans, gender diverse and intersex communities, and we ask that this is respected.

A peer navigator with a trans flag will be waiting at the entry of the pool from 2:30-3 pm to let you in and direct you to where the community BBQ is. If you arrive later than that, please call us on 0402 276 553.

Accessibility -

The Canberra Olympic Pool offers disability parking, change rooms, and accessible pool ramps. The outdoor dive pool is 25m and the indoor heated pool is 50m. There is a picnic area with seating.

There will be two peer navigators available on the day to support your engagement with the event. This is a safe and affirming space for all bodies, abilities, and people. If you are concerned about your safety or participation, please get in touch to discuss further and we can connect you with a peer navigator on the day.
