TGV Sports Sampler Series #1- Pony Club Gym

This event is for transgender, gender diverse, and nonbinary people.
About the sessions:
The Sports Sampler program is a 12-month peer support program which seeks to make physical activity accessible and safe for trans and gender diverse people. Each month, TGV will work with a different sport or activity association to showcase the wide variety of ways trans folks can move their bodies, connect with community, and have fun.
The Pony Club Gym Sampler consists of three different activities: a Strength Session, a Boxing Session, and a Yoga Session.
Strength Session: This will be an introduction to the fundamentals of strength training. We will concentrate on the three main movement patterns of a push, pull and press. The session will include a warm up, some basic strength training with different equipment and time for questions.
Boxing: This session will run as an intro to boxing with technique, different combos and some cardio work. This will be a fun higher energy session.
Yoga: This will be a nice way to end with a guided flow for all mobility abilities. This is a good way to come back into the body and utilise the breath.
About the facilitator:
Pony Club Gym believes that anyone should have access to fitness and learning, regardless of their body shape, size, gender, age, sexuality, race, ability and or identity.
Refundable deposit:
There is a $15 refundable deposit for this session, and as long as you either attend the session or cancel more than 2 days in advance, you will be refunded this cost. If you do not cancel with at least two day's notice, or you do not show up, you will be charged the $15. If you are committed to coming to the session but the $15 fee poses a financial barrier, please contact us at peersupport@tgv.org.au.
