Thai Yoga Massage Workshop

You are invited to come play and learn the dynamic art of Thai Yoga Massage. No experience necessary, this is an inclusive, beginner friendly workshop! Sign up with a friend!
We will begin by doing a few simple partner stretches and start syncing up our breath, then get into learning a 45 minute massage sequence. We will take a short break in between before switching partners.
What is Thai Massage?
Thai massage incorporates assisted stretching with rhythmic pressure along energy (Sen) lines in the body to allow the recipient to enter a relaxed and open state. The rhythm established has a powerful effect on the nervous system, inviting surrender that allows the body to regulate into balance. A blend of physical manipulation and energy work, Thai massage can relieve muscle tension, improve range of motion, flexibility, circulation, lymphatic drainage and overall mood by balancing the nervous system and boosting immune function.
It's a fully clothed massage performed on a mat on the floor, where you will sometimes be in contact with multiple body parts at once. So sign up with someone you're comfortable to get up close and personal with!
What to bring:
- A partner!
- Wear comfortable loose clothing/ yoga clothes (warmer top layer for when you're the receiver)
- Yoga mat x 2 & Blanket
- Water bottle
***Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up your spot and get settled, as we will begin at 4pm sharp.
Jaclyn is passionate about movement as an embodied healing art and has discovered greater authenticity in herself in connecting through yoga, dance and massage. She enjoys following her curiosity through these forms and sharing it with others. Jaclyn is a Certified 200hr Yoga Teacher since 2012 and Certified Thai Massage therapist since 2017. Jaclyn has been practicing Thai, Swedish Relaxation and Deep Tissue for the past 6 years. She is currently in her last six months of the RMT program at Kootenay Columbia College and practices independently and at Aura Spa.
