Thank you for the music: Alex Owens farewell recital

After eight years of singing, laughing, and making music with us here in Melbourne, our dear friend and colleague Alex Owens is heading overseas — to the Haute école de musique Geneva — to study opera. And we're sending them off in style.

Join Divisi, a string quartet, and a constellation of friends and collaborators as we celebrate everything Alex has given to this city and to us. The program is built around music Alex loves, performed by the people who love them.

This concert is also a fundraiser. Moving overseas to train as a singer is a significant undertaking, and we want to do everything we can to help Alex on their way. Your ticket directly supports that journey.

Alex has been singing baritone with Divisi since our very first concert — Tallis to Tavener — and has been a constant, joyful presence in Melbourne's choral and vocal scene ever since. Come and help us celebrate that.

Expect: beautiful music, a warm room full of people who care, and a proper farewell for a proper artist.

If you want to support Alex directly, you can make a tax deductible donation here.
