On Sunday 11 October 2026, The Astor Theatre in Melbourne will host the world premiere of That Race; a night that brings together the film, its cast, and one of Australian sport’s most enduring figures for a single, unrepeatable evening.

Cathy Freeman will take her seat in the same room as the six women she raced alongside in Stawell thirty years ago.

The film will screen in full, followed by a live interactive Q&A with Cathy Freeman, the cast, and director Didier Le Miere, an opportunity to hear the stories behind the story, in the words of the people who lived them.

For those with VIP access, the evening extends into a private meet and greet with Cathy Freeman; an intimate moment with one of the most respected athletes in Australian sporting history.

This is not a standard premiere. It is a reunion, a celebration, and a rare opportunity to be in the room when a defining chapter of Australian sport is revisited by the people who were there.
