Event description

The SmartFone Flick Fest is one of the world's biggest smartphone film festivals, helping to make filmmaking affordable and accessible to all, and it's back for its 10th year! Experience one of Australia's most innovative and exciting film festivals, with Ambassadors including Phillip Noyce, Kriv Stenders, Luis Fernandez, Darlene Johnson, Kerry Armstrong, Jason van Genderen, Pieter de Vries, Anthony Kierann, Christopher Stollery, Emily Prior and Nicole da Silva. SF3 2024 is brought to you with the support of our Major Sponsors Blackmagic Design and Luma Touch, our Silver Sponsors Melodie & Accounting Heart and our Bronze Sponsors Chicken & Chips Casting and Rubber Monkey. Over $50,000 in prizes is on offer with the generous support of all of our festival sponsors.

Festival Director and co-founder Angela Blake says phones have revolutionized the film industry and now everyone has the power to make films and share their stories with the world.

“When we founded the festival 10 years ago, we could not have foreseen the spectacular advances in the use of phone technology – or the success we’d have in Australia and so far beyond! At SF3 we are so proud to be at the centre of this movement and be there to inspire thousands of creatives of all ages.”

Phillip Noyce:

“SF3 breaks down barriers. This festival opens up the world of cinema to a vast untapped reservoir of talent. I believe everyone has a story worth telling. Now, more than ever, these stories can be shared with the world!”

So come along to our VIP red-carpet screenings with the crème de la crème of the world's smartphone films all competing for over $50,000 in prizes and the chance to be crowned the SF3 2024 Best Film Award Winner, our SF3 Kids Best Film Winner and over 30 other awards. Tickets to all screenings include pre-show red-carpet networking events, and the chance to rub shoulders with the stars of the smartphone filmmaking world and with our Sponsors, Judges and Ambassadors who are some of the world leaders in the film industry.
