The English Ale is a unique seasonal gathering that takes place in the picturesque Adelaide Hills town of Mylor every May. It is an autumn gathering celebrating the village calendar customs and ritual traditions from Great Britain that occur within the seasonal wheel of the year.


Join in for a day and night of music, mumming, magical creatures, merriment and mayhem. Morris dancing, giants, hobby horses and guisers. Wear a mask and take part in the torchlight procession to the bonfire!

Adelaide Morris Men, Artisan Craft Market, Aussie Cider Bar, Adelaide Empire Band, Dan Burt and Dobbin, Druid Peace Ritual, Dustbowl Chic, Fayre Guisers Mummers Players, Hedgehog, Hot For Joe Morris Dancers, Mari Lwyd, Preston's Historic Punch and Judy, Spier and Wright Whisky Bar, Spiral Dance, Storytelling, The Dancing Monsters, The Shambolics, The Whisky Bar Sea Shanty Singing Session, Torchlight Procession, Winter Amour Pyromancer Dancer and burning of the Wickerman.

Dressing up is just one of the reasons for joining us at The English Ale. Release your inner Greenman, Fae, Viking, Warrior or Wizard. Paint your face to reveal the creature within!!!

Food trucks : Moorish Bites, Allure Fine Foods, Poffertjes Mini Dutch Pancake, TaCHs Stroopwafels, OMG Decadent Donuts, Asian Aussie Street Food, One Sip Coffee.

Please note the English Ale is a non-smoking event on the oval and in food serving areas.
