The 40 in Sofala

Did you know the first organised MTB* National Champs was held in 1984 in lil’ol’ Sofala? 

Join us in Sofala on the 8th of September 2024 to commemorate the 40th anniversary and hear some stories from those that made it happen and those that took part. Hear plenty more stories (true or otherwise partially there) about what followed to get us here today. 

We’ll have a range of on-bike and off-bike activities…will there be racing?  Only if you want to, but expect the opportunity to go fast and/or fall off your bike at some stage. 

Activities include: 

• Ride courses 
• Pub quiz 
• Skid comp 
• Show n shine 
• History lessons and storytelling 

Schedule to be released 31st July and will include activities from 2pm Saturday 7th *Main event Sun 8th  September*

• - Supported by: Rocky Trail, 23 Degrees, Auscycling and Bathurst Regional events
• - Event HQ proudly hosted by the Royal Hotel, Sofala- Commemorative Merch will be available over the weekend
