Chamber music at its best is coming up in Gunning in April.  A superb Opera House-standard string ensemble, the Acacia Quartet, with a splendid selection of music:  Alice Chance Precious Colours, Ludwig von Beethoven, SQ1 Op 18/1 and Franz Schubert SQ 14, D810 Death and the Maiden.   Played in a uniquely excellent sound space where the audience sits closely and intimately with the players.  Absolute enjoyment is assured.

Gunning has all the makings for a delightful afternoon out.   This historic little village is within easy reach of Goulburn, Yass and Canberra.  As well as its three cafes, it has art, craft, and antique shops set in an appealing historic streetscape.  And 10 minutes away, you'll find the little town of Dalton, which boasts a well-preserved leaf fossil deposit, various sculptures around town, and a historic pub with great meals, coffee, and cakes.
