The Adaptation Game Film Screening
Event description
Join as for a screening of The Adaptation Game: A Merri-bek Climate Drill
In 2022 Merri-bek council partnered with researchers and a group of creatives to develop the first The Adaptation Game (TAG). A tool for community-led climate resilient action.
TAG is a playful workshop for residents to connect and help prepare our community to be more resilient for climate change. It is an innovative way for the community to talk about and respond to the impact of climate change in their neighbourhood.
Even though it has "game" in the name, it's more of a platform for a community conversation. It is definitely not like Monopoly!
Everyone counts. No act is too small, no idea is too big.
About the Film Night
View the short film (less than 15 minutes) and hear from participants how it affected them and how working together we can prepare for predicted climate related risks.
After the screening there will be a discussion about community action in Merri-bek.
Neighbours United for Climate Action (NUCA) will give a short talk about how you can get involved with TAG and how you can be connected to other local climate action groups - there's something for everybody in Merri-bek!
Catering provided.

The Adaptation Game is sponsored by Deakin University, in partnership with Merri-bek Council, with creative design and production by Goodmorningbeautiful, Amble Studio, Collabforge, and Wax Wings Games.
The Adaptation Game is a workshop for local governments to raise awareness and grow capacity towards climate-resilient communities. It is designed for people who accept climate change, but may feel uncertain about what they can do about it.
