We’re thrilled to welcome back Artistic Director Peter Clark this September as we reach the final chapter of WestPhil’s flagship junior series: The Advocates.

Building on the energy and inspiration of Parts 1 and 2, this third instalment brings the series to a powerful close - celebrating great musical voices of the past while giving space to fresh and vital contemporary expression.

In Part 3, we honour the 50th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich’s passing with a striking arrangement from his Fourth String Quartet, a work of raw emotion and resilience. Alongside it, we present Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 8, a jewel of the Baroque.

We are also proud to showcase Australian composer Rachel Bruerville’s Dancing on Tiptoes, a heartfelt piece originally commissioned for the Hush Foundation, alongside the sparkling finale from Mozart’s Divertimento in D, K.136.

With the support of Quartet 121 - winners of the prestigious Sydney Eisteddfod Orvieto Musica Festival Scholarship - this program will ignite young performers and audiences alike, offering artistry, inspiration, and a glimpse into the future of music-making in Western Sydney.
