Event description

“We can’t make dying good but I believe in some instances we can make it better.” Cam McLaren, Medical Oncologist.

On June 19th 2019, the voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2017 came into effect in Victoria. Whilst there is strict eligibility to meet, Victorians who have reached end of life can now request access to voluntary assisted dying.

Despite being legalised across a number of States across Australia, the topic of Voluntary Assisted Dying is still heavily debated by many groups.

In this important panel discussion led by Medical Oncologist Cam McLaren, we’ll hear from experts in the field and those who have been impacted by the controversial legislation. We’ll explore the wide range of opinions and viewpoints, and ultimately the patient impact.

Join us for an evening of conversation, food and drinks at the stunning venue by the Australian Style Institute in Melbourne, Victoria.

We will be closely monitoring any COVID restrictions in the lead up to the event and ensure it is a COVID safe event.
