I’m Cat Thompson, a self-leadership coach, yoga teacher, and speaker.. I am the visionary and founder of Life By Design.

Originally from Houston, Texas, I now call New Zealand home, where I live with my husband and our three daughters. The leap across the ocean was more than a move; it was my commitment to embracing change, trusting my intuition, and stepping into the unknown.

Life By Design is rooted in a lifelong curiosity for personal growth, human potential, and the profound wisdom that unfolds when we design our lives with intention. I believe creation is an ever-evolving process, and we do our best work when we build it together.

Because I know this work was never meant to be done alone. I am passionate about rich conversations that anchor you to your true self so that you can meet the present moment with acceptance and grace, ready to step forward with a greater sense of choice, vitality and self-trust.

In 2019, I opened Basecamp Power Yoga, offering yoga, mindfulness and community connection to Auckland. In 2020, I completed Lightyear Leadership Coach Training, deepening my understanding of transformative tools and practices. In 2023, I was successful in selling Basecamp Power Yoga to open up space for what is next and take time with my growing family. My vast experience working alongside a diverse range of coaches has shaped a rich, integrated approach to personal transformation.

And now, Life By Design is here! I designed this space of empowerment to be a sanctuary, a place to rediscover who you are right now, while getting curious about the future version of yourself and who you are becoming. This is your invitation to a journey of self-discovery, intention, and empowered action. .

Let’s design the life you truly desire. Together.
