The Analog Project

Event description

Whether you have been into digital photography for years and want to take your photography to the another level, or just getting into photography and like to find out about the analog side.

In this hands-on workshop you will have the opportunity to learn about and try out the various kinds of analog cameras that are readily available. From retro cameras to contemporary film cameras (e.g., pinhole, Lomography and Polaroid), in 35mm, medium, and large format. You will learn about their creative possibilities and what they can and cannot do.

We start the day with an introduction to analogue cameras and film in our wonderful studio. We will touch on exposure, aperture, light meters, and what types of cameras to use where and when. In the afternoon you'll be working with the camera of your choice in the studio or on location (depending on your interests). This workshop is about experimentation and new ways of seeing, but most of all, to play and have fun. If you have an analog camera, bring it along, if not, we'll have cameras available.

Ilona Schneider has been a photographer over 30 years. Her trade started in analog photography, and although her commercial work is mainly digital, she uses analog for most of her projects.
