Visit artist, educator and textile designer Annick Akanni in her studio and join her mother Dottie for an informal gathering in the courtyard to learn the art of fibre and hair braiding.
“Whenever mum braids my hair, we talk about life and share stories together.”
Akanni’s practice involves sharing creative knowledge and skills through community art workshops for children, young people and families. Meeting and connecting with a diverse range of cross disciplinary creatives invites conversation and the opportunity to learn about different cultures.
