The Art of Flax weaving and Fire making by hand!

Join us on Sunday afternoon in St Clair, Dunedin, for a community gathering where we will be running 2 workshops side by side in which you can choose from!

1. Learn how to weave flax inspired by nature

 - How to harvest and prepare the flax leaves 

- Create a piece of sustainable handwoven art, e.g a basket

2. Learn how to make fire by hand

- How to carve all the tools out of wood

- Create smoke and ash (without matches or a lighter!) and place it on gathered natural material to start your fire

The workshops will be led by the wonderful Karina and Johannes from @nature_weaving and @rewildingnz.

Please let us know if you are keen to do both workshops and we can look at rearranging the timings to make that possible.

They will run for 2-3 hours, with an optional potluck after. Please bring a dish if you'd like to share some kai :)
