The Art of Repair: A Kintsugi Workshop at Third Turn

The Art of Repair is an evening centered on Kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold and allowing the repair to remain visible.

Rather than trying to return an object to exactly what it was before, Kintsugi invites us to work with what is already there. The repair becomes part of the piece — adding character, history, and something entirely new.

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own Kintsugi-inspired piece while exploring the beauty of visible repair, imperfection, creativity, and transformation.

Third Turn is an especially fitting setting for the evening. Housed in a restored historic church, the building itself carries visible traces of what came before — original brick, stained glass, old architecture, and a new life built around what was already there.

What to bring:
Guests are welcome to bring one small ceramic piece to work with — roughly the size of a cup, saucer, or small plate. Please no porcelain. If you don’t have a piece to bring, one can be provided for a small materials fee.

All other workshop materials are included, and no art experience is needed.

Come make something beautiful, have a drink, and spend an evening looking at repair a little differently.
