Description

A warm invitation to a very special FREE Arts Council event: THE ART OF SHORT STORY WRITING

"In this discussion-based workshop, you will have the opportunity to read and reflect on several short stories, asking if they work, and if so, what makes them work. The discussion will be interspersed with guided writing exercises, and underpinned by Kate's observations on short stories, based on her experience editing and writing."

We are so fortunate to have Kate offer this workshop! And she's a Cygnet local:

"Kate Kruimink is a writer whose three books have been recognised in prizes in Australia and the UK. Her most recent novel is Heartsease (winner of the Tasmanian Premier’s Prize for Fiction, shortlisted for the Christina Stead Prize in the NSW Lit Awards) and her most recent book is the novella Astraea (winner of the Weatherglass Novella Prize, UK). She is the Fiction Editor at Island and her short stories, essays and poems have been published widely."

WHERE: The SUPPER ROOM, CYGNET TOWN HALL

WHEN: SUNDAY JULY 19th

TIME: 1pm - 3pm (with an opportunity to hear more of Kate's work and engage in a community poetry/story share from 3pm-4pm)
