Event description

Conducting live interviews or chairing an in-conversation or panel discussion at festivals and smaller events can be a daunting prospect. In this two-hour workshop, journalist, festival director and Writing WA CEO Will Yeoman takes you through the essentials, from reading and research to formulating questions and on-stage strategies to keep interviewees and audience members fully engaged. There will be a special focus on performance, which is often neglected, and the workshop will include role-playing scenarios and group feedback.

Will Yeoman has nearly 20 years' experience facilitating in-conversations and panel discussions locally, nationally and internationally, and has interviewed a broad range of writers including Tim Winton, Trent Dalton, Helen Garner, Kim Scott, Geraldine Brooks, Christos Tsiolkas, Jonathan Franzen, Germaine Greer, Lynda La Plante and AC Grayling.

Location: Geographe Room on the Ground Floor, next to the Writing WA office
