Join us for the second Artist Talk of our sell-out series - The Artist in the Wine Bar - featuring New Zealand’s hottest young talent, Matt Griffin.

Savour a fine wine and delicious food at Vic Rd while hearing an insightful talk by Matt Griffin about his creative process.

Matt’s talk will centre around the collection of works from his recent, breathtaking exhibition that explores the duality of man and animal through a stunning array of exceptionally high quality oil paintings and limited edition prints.

A realism painter, Matt blurs the fine line between lifelike detail and soulful expression. From his Auckland studio he brings people and animals to life on canvas, capturing their form and stories.

After the talk you’re invited to join Matt in the Flagstaff Gallery to see the full complement of his works, where you can also chat to him 1-1 and learn more about the talent behind the art.

Tickets start from just $12 and all of the art is available for purchase - offering you a unique selection of potential gifts for your loved ones this Christmas.

We look forward to welcoming you.
