    Part of The Artist Place at Queens Park   

    Linocut without a press with Brigitte Zimmerman (Brizi Art)

    Meeting out the front of the Ken Burgess Orchid house participants will spend a bit of time drawing inspiration from the orchid display. This workshop will cover drawing of Orchids and will take place in the nearby Cricket Shed. The drawing will be transferred to a soft plate (EZY Printing Block are economical because both sides can be used and carves like butter) After it will be carved with a Lino tool and then printed on paper or textile. The participants will learn about negative and positive space. This workshop is suitable for beginners 15 years + up,  or for people wanting to have a go at printmaking. (participants under 18 year of age must be accompanied by a guardian)

    Please bring along:

    • Protective clothes for paint (apron or smock)
    • A mobile phone or camera to take orchid photos
    • Snack for afternoon tea
    • All other supplies will be provided

      Terms and conditions of booking:

      • All program attendees must be in good health prior to attending the session. If you feel unwell, please cancel your booking to enable another participant to attend. We will provide an 85% refund up to 24 hours prior to the workshop. 

      • Carefully consider your availability to attend the event BEFORE making your booking. Late cancellations - may mean a lost opportunity for other community members.

      • Photography Permission: Please be aware that photographs of the workshop will be taken for documentation and may be posted on Facebook to advertise other events. Do not attend if you do not wish to be photographed.
