The Australian Reduction Roadmap | Sydney Launch
Event description
We would like to invite you to a short seminar on the recently released Australian Reduction Roadmap.
The Australian Reduction Roadmap will be presented by Professor Gerard Reinmuth, then followed by a conversation between Dan Hill, Philip Oldfield, Tim Schork, Lucy Humphrey and Paul Reidy.
This Reduction Roadmap is an Australian edition of the original, produced in Denmark in 2020, and which has now been updated and folded into a new piece of work, Beyond the Roadmap.
By linking future building emissions to carbon budgets required to minimise Global Warming, the Reduction Roadmap provides a stark picture of the extent to which the construction industry should change in the near future if we are to meet these targets.
The impact of the original Reduction Roadmap and its clear communication was significant, including a role in the revision of new carbon limits in Danish Building legislation enacted last year. Our hope is that the Australian Reduction Roadmap, based on local industry emissions and targets, will have a similar impact on the discussion here and also add to a growing movement for legislative change.
