Event description

Doing brave things is the single fundamental thing we need to do to grow our businesses. It is also statistically the one thing that women do not do at the same rate as men hindering our success.

This month we explore the moments we need to be brave and what that looked like for our incredible panel.

Meet Hayley Bowen, the founder of SHE STREET. After returning from living in London and having her first set of twins (yep, there are two batches) she was motivated more than ever to work for herself, on her own terms. As a broad size 14 she always struggled to find things to wear, but when she did find the right piece, would feel a million bucks. After hunting high and low to find suitable clothing she thought, there should be a store that just specialises in relaxed, cool shapes and SS was born.

Starting from a single garage in Cronulla, SHE STREET is now a well loved Aussie brand based on the Gold Coast. It’s for ladies that wanna feel confident, relaxed and like they’re rocking out in their everyday get-up. Hayley uses a mix of influences from her past life as a singer on stage and lover of music. She believes a fresh pair of Converse or Dr Martens can go with ANYTHING and refuses to let becoming a mum or older in age dictate how one should dress. SHE STREET is a vibe and all about being unapologetically you.

Next, Meet Haley McDonald, CEO and founder of Monarx and 3P Studio, one of South East Queensland’s largest post-production companies. With a career spanning 20 years in post-production, Haley has worked as an offline editor, online editor and motion designer before launching 3P Studio in 2016. Haley’s commercial credits include Coke, Myer, Flight Centre, Nike, Subway and McDonalds along with Music videos for some of Australia’s largest rock bands including Powderfinger, Eskimo Joe as well as Aria award-nominated clips for Silverchair. Her work in short form has received multiple national and international awards including credits on AFI award-winning ‘Dog with Electric Collar’ in 2008. Now as CEO and founder of 3P, Haley has built a reputation of excellence and swift thinking to work to any deadline, brief and successful outcomes. This ethos has been the backbone of 3P, creating solid foundations for her company to grow to be one of the state’s largest production and post facilities

If you have not been to one of our events before, here is what you need to know:

  • This is not your average networking event. We cannot tell you our secrets just yet, but you will meet some epic people and have some epic conversations. No awkward small talk or sales pitches allowed.
  • We have an anti-loner policy. If you are coming alone one of our team will discreetly introduce you to some people so you are not left standing in a corner awkwardly staring at your shoes. We got you.
  • We like food. There will be plenty and it will be delicious.
  • A glass of wine is included in your ticket and then there is a cash bar for those who need more.
  • We are focused on learning what we need to do to up-level our business.
  • We attract some of Brisbane's most epic businesswomen... in our humble but clearly right opinion.
  • There are no cliques. All are welcome and all are included.

We would love to see you. Join the evolution and come party with us.
