The Big Issue Adelaide Magazine Launch & Vendor Breakfast

To launch the new issue of the fortnightly magazine, we run a breakfast where the vendors are invited to come along and hear what's in the new edition before it goes on sale. This offers participants the opportunity to check in with fellow vendors, Big Issue staff and have a hot meal.

Location: The Big Issue, 237 North Terrace, Adelaide

Specific Volunteer Responsibilities

• Help with set up and pack down

• Helping to greet vendors outside the building and direct them to the right place

• Preparing and serving food and coffee to vendors

• Interacting with vendors, engaging in some positive light-hearted conversation

• Helping to clean up after the launch event

• Assisting Vendor Support on the day with any other duties that need to be carried out

Please note: There's a maximum of 3 volunteer spots available per session.

What to bring

Wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes. The Big Issue will provide an apron and gloves.

• We are best known for The Big Issue magazine: a fortnightly, independent magazine sold on the streets by vendors who are working to improve their lives. The concept is simple: vendors buy copies of The Big Issue for $4.50 and sell them for $9, earning a meaningful income.
