The Curtin enAble Institute is proud to host the next “Big Issues in Mental Health” series event.

This upcoming “Big Issues” panel brings together diverse perspectives on how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research needs to be done to optimise outcomes for the community.

The panel yarn will address big issues such as the Mental Health Commission’s future plans and actions, funding opportunities from the Office of Medical Research and Innovation (WA Health) and the Future Health Research and Innovation Fund, opportunities for streamlining ethical approvals, the importance of cultural safety, research standards, data sovereignty, and governance. The panel will include perspectives from an Elder about what works and what doesn’t, an early career researcher on culturally safe capacity building, and a WA Country Health Service healthcare worker on what works in the regions.

This unique event is not to be missed. Join us at this “Big Issues” panel event to start conversations with the sector about how we can work together to improve the mental health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Western Australians.
