Brave Little Company's THE BIG "US" PROJECT, an initiative begun in 2018, is a collaborative theatre piece led by 100 members of Houston's refugee and immigrant communities.

We want the stories told in Houston to reflect the diversity of Houston. People who come to the U.S. as refugees, asylees, and immigrants do not always get to tell their stories to a citywide audience. We are trying to change that.

THE BIG “US” PROJECT invites people of all ages from Houston’s refugee and immigrant communities to share your culture through stories, parables, or important lessons from their lives. To create the final performances for 2024, “Story Threads,” the stories will be woven together to create a final performance.

THE BIG "US" PROJECT is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance. THE BIG “US” PROJECT is generously funded by Mid-America Arts Alliance, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the state arts agencies of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Additional funding has been made possible by the Puffin Foundation, Ltd. and by individual contributors.

**Note: The audience has the option of lounge seating (carpets and pillows) or chair seating. The audience will be invited to join performers on stage several times during the production. Wheelchair users are welcome and there is plenty of space for you!
