The Birth Commons: November Gathering
Event description
Come along to a relaxed & casual gathering for Sunshine Coast birthworkers. All birthworkers welcome- doulas, midwives, birthkeepers, students, educators, body workers….anyone working with women & families in the pregnancy, labour & birth continuum; within any context, setting or experience- you are all so very welcome & wanted in this space.
The aim of this monthly event is to gather, build solidarity & relationships in our community and to share, learn & grow knowledges together, in a down-to-earth, accessible space. Everyone is teacher, everyone is student.
Come from 9.30 am for 10am start.
Gatherings will have a topic or focus for everyone to bring their curiosity & knowledge to share. It is a relaxed discussion style gathering, not a circle, so please feel free to come & share you like.
Tickets have been made free to increase accessibility. Cash donations on the day, towards venue hire are greatly appreciated!
There will be tea available. Please BYO coffee (lots of nice cafes in Yandina) & morning tea snacks as wanted.
A couple of kind boundaries-
Respectfully, this is predominately a child-free space to allow for focus & connection, though there is a park next door for carers to utilise if needed.
Generally, this is a offline & social media free space so as to foster a sense of safety & grounded presence. It’s totally ok to take a picture or two but while we’re together, let’s just be together. ❤️
Come along & build good culture in our community, in respect & connection. Let’s build The Birth Commons.
