Description

Three upwardly mobile millennial couples head to a luxury Southern Highlands farmstay to celebrate a joint 30th birthday. But as the champagne flows, relationships unravel and simmering tensions around privilege, infidelity, inequality and ambition rise spectacularly to the surface.

Written and directed by James Robert Woods, The Birthday Trip is a sharp, darkly funny Australian satire featuring an outstanding ensemble cast including David Quirk, Nicola Frew and Luke Jacobz. Hailed as an “excellent Australian black comedy”, this is a provocative and entertaining new Australian film that takes a biting look at the people, privileges and pretensions of contemporary Australia.
