The Biscuit Tin Project: Online Staff Seminar (August 2025)

This online seminar for staff within organisations and groups participating in the Biscuit Tin Project, aims to help promote respect and equality for older women, and reduce rates of violence and abuse by providing education to better understand:

• The inequalities experienced by older women

• The ageist/sexist drivers of inequalities experienced by older women

• Gaps in services

• The (un)Silencing of Older Women

• The contributions older women make

• The acts of respect that are valued by older women

This facilitated session aims to provide support and build confidence within organisations to successfully deliver #TheBiscuitTin workshop and will cover:

• Historical inequalities - and their legacies​

• Contemporary inequalities​

• Ageism – sexism/misogyny​

• Representations of older women​

• Words Make Worlds​

• The [un]Silencing of Older Women, policy and service reform​

• A solution - The Biscuit Tin project
