About the Project
The City of Melville Library teamed up with Booragoon Primary’s Year 5 and 6 classes to create an extraordinary library event that truly reflected how they wanted their library to be.
In an exciting collaboration with the City of Melville Library team and celebrated author Cristy Burne, students designed an event completely by kids, for kids.
The kids managed every part of the project, including creating the ideas, planning the event, and marketing it to their peers.
During two dynamic half-day workshops for each year group, students:
- Exploring creative ideas and tackling fun challenges
- Building confidence, collaboration and communication skills
- Learning how to bring their imaginations to life in a real-world setting
This project is all about empowering young voices and showing students that the library is their space, a place where their ideas, interests, and creativity are welcomed and celebrated.
Please be advised that children under the age of 13 years are to be accompanied by an adult at this activity.
If you are unwell or cannot attend, please contact the library as soon as you are able to allow someone else to take your place.
