Community Planting Day
Event description
Richmond Riverkeeper, in partnership with Richmond Landcare and Lismore City Council present a community tree planting day, being held on the banks of Terania Creek, at The Channon Tavern on Sunday 19th October, as part of Richmond Riverfest 2025.
A planting was begun in autumn 2025, funded through Lismore City Council and The Northern Rivers Watershed Initiative. This planting day will extend the existing planting on two flats adjacent to the banks planted in autumn.
We'll learn about some of the creek specialist species being planted, and the deep stem planting technique, before planting up to 1100 trees and sedges. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a catered lunch and some music at the Tavern.
All are welcome to come along and take part!
The day is supported by Lismore City Councils' Biodiversity Management Strategy funding. Richmond RiverFest has been made possible with support from the Australian Government and North Coast Regional Landcare Network through the Care for Catchments project.
