The Christmas Cup 2025: Social Beach Volleyball & Supball - Charity Fundraiser for Pass it on Clothing & Co

The Christmas Cup is a charity fundraiser event for Pass it on Clothing & Co. They provide free items of clothing to the homeless and disadvantaged communities across Manly, Sydney and NSW.

They have passed on over 300,000 pieces of clothing across over 1,000 outreach sessions and services, and are now launching the Pass It On Academy, to home and give invaluable life skills to 10 people at a time from the housing commission. Christmas can be a tough time of year for the homeless, and we want to do our bit to raise awareness and money to help out.

This event will mix people from the Beach Volleyball and Supball communities and complete beginners to both sports. When purchasing your ticket, please provide us with your gender, experience and expertise for both sports, from AAA to no grading for Beach Volleyball and experienced, intermediate, beginner or first-time for Supball. A draw will be made before the event to make teams as evenly balanced as possible. Based on your response, you will be placed in a team and play social Beach Volleyball and Supball with your teammates to compete for the Christmas Cup! If you want to be in the same team that you were in last year or want to be in the same team as somebody else, please also request this in your response.

THIS IS SOCIAL AND ANY BEHAVIOUR TO DELIBERATELY UNNECESSARILY INTIMIDATE LESS EXPERIENCED PLAYERS OR POTENTIALLY CAUSE HARM TO PLAYERS IS A STRAIGHT RED CARD, WE HAVE NO TIME FOR IT! IT'S CHRISTMAS AND IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE WHAT WILL BE A FUN DAY FOR ALL!

The Schedule

• 10:00am - Arrive at Manly Cove, West Esplanade for registration and an explanation of how the day will run. Pass it on Clothing will have a clothing bin that you can deposit any unwanted items of clothing in, which can be distributed to the homeless for Christmas. Have a big brekky, be fueled and ready to go!

• 10:30am-12:30pm - You will be playing social Beach Volleyball with your teammates. You will get regular breaks, and there is no obligation to play a certain amount of time if you prefer to spend more time supporting and socialising. Games will be timed, and if the scores are level, it's a draw. There is no scoring limit, and you play until the clock runs down. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. All teams will be together at Manly Cove, West Esplanade, either playing Beach Volleyball or socialising and supporting. Each team will have at least one Beach Volleyball player to help others learn the game.

• 12:30pm-2pm - We will allow for some extra time if Beach Volleyball overruns, and then migrate to The Office, East Esplanade for socialising, BYO drinks and snacks. A sausage sizzle will be provided by us for all (vegan sausages will also be provided) to give you that boost of energy.

• 2pm-4pm - You will be playing social Supball with your teammates. You will get regular breaks, and there is no obligation to play a certain amount of time if you prefer to spend more time supporting and socialising. Games will be timed, and if the scores are level, it's a draw. There is no scoring limit, and you play until the clock runs down. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. All teams will be together on the sand or the water at East Esplanade, either playing Supball or socialising and supporting. Each team will have at least one Supball player to help others learn the game.

• 4pm - Time to go home, change and get ready for the afterparty at The Ivanhoe Hotel, Manly Corso.

• 5:30pm-10:30pm - Arrive at The Ivanhoe Hotel on Manly Corso and head up to level 2 for the afterparty! Lots of cocktail-style food, including canapes, pizzas, and more (vegan options will also be provided), for everyone. We have The Loft at The Ivanhoe exclusively booked out for us. This space is the whole second floor with a private bar, private bathrooms, an outdoor balcony terrace, DJ decks and space for a band to play live music, a dance floor and tables, chairs and booths. Food will be brought out periodically throughout the evening, and you will receive two free drinks vouchers on arrival. Proceedings will start with the awards ceremony. Bronze, Silver and Gold medals will be presented to the 3rd, 2nd and 1st-placed teams, and there could be some special prizes for those who go the extra mile or put in a special effort and some thought to bringing Christmas cheer to the day. The Christmas Cup will be presented to the winning team, and yes, of course, you will be able to drink out of it! In the event of a tie for podium places, this will be decided by a dance-off. If your team doesn't finish in the top three, don't worry, you still have the opportunity to go home with something. There will be a raffle for Pass it on Clothing, which includes prizes from different sports. Following the awards ceremony and raffle, the music will take you onto the dancefloor to celebrate a great day with everyone.

• 10:30pm onwards - The second floor will open up to the public, and The Ivanhoe Hotel DJs will continue to keep the party going for those who wish to kick on!

The whole second floor of The Ivanhoe Hotel is booked out for us exclusively for the Christmas Cup event. You will have your name checked and will be wristbanded on arrival.  

Please be respectful of everybody on the day. This includes your teammates, your opponents and the people serving you. It's Christmas, have fun!
