Join us for the Circular Change Makers Tour – a unique event highlighting the transition from a traditional linear economy to a sustainable circular economy. This forward-thinking program, held in collaboration with leading industry partners, will showcase innovative projects that conserve resources, reduce environmental impact, and create new opportunities for growth.

What to Expect

On this tour, we’ll explore real-world examples of circular economy principles in action, with site visits across Geelong showcasing innovation in energy, water, and sustainable bio-products:

  • Northern Water Treatment Plant – O₂ Project Overview: Gain insights into this cutting-edge project and its role in advancing sustainable water management.

  • New Energy Service Station (with Barwon Water’s H₂ Truck): Guided tour led by Viva, exploring the integration of hydrogen energy solutions.

  • The Gordon TAFE, Geelong East Campus: Enjoy lunch, then see the Hydraloop unit in action, demonstrating on-site water recycling technology.

  • Deakin University, Waurn Ponds Campus – Centre for Sustainable Bio-Products: Discover pioneering research and innovation in sustainable materials, guided by Professor Colin Barrow (Deakin Distinguished Professor and Chair in Biotechnology in the Centre for Sustainable Bio-Products).

Transportation and Lunch:

A bus will be provided with two pick-up and drop-off locations: Southern Cross Station and Geelong Station. When registering for the event, please select your preferred location. You are also welcome to make your own way to the sites by car if you prefer.

The bus will also be used to transport participants between site visits.

Lunch will be provided at The Gordon TAFE.
