The Circus Studio AGM 2024

Members and supporters of The Circus Studio Inc are invited to attend our 2024 Annual General Meeting. Based on our current trajectory, it is likely that this may be our last Annual General Meeting as the current Management Committee prepare to wind up operations. Members and supporters wanting to understand how we got here, or discuss the future of circus in the Kingborough area are highly encouraged to come along and get involved.

Business of the meeting

The business of the meeting will be to:

• Confirm the Minutes of the 2023 AGM
• Receive and endorse the 2023-24 Financial Report
• Elect the Management Committee (office bearers and general committee members)
• Receive and answer questions about the current status and future path of The Circus Studio

Management Committee

Members are invited to nominate for the Management Committee. The positions are:

• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Public Officer
• General Committee Members

The current Management Committee have indicated their intention to stand again for their current positions, however they intend to continue towards the winding up of the association if they remain in these roles. The reasons for this will be discussed at the meeting. Anyone wanting to get involved in the next chapter of The Circus Studio to either set a new course for the organisation or continue with the winding up process should consider nominating for a Management Committee position. Nominations close on Thursday 5th September. Please download, complete and return the nomination form.

If insufficient nominations are received to fill all positions, further nominations can be received during the meeting.

Membership and voting
Everyone who has paid for an adult class at The Circus Studio since September 2023 is a current member of The Circus Studio and is entitled to vote at the AGM (noting that a membership clause is included in the waiver signed on enrolment). Other students, parents and community members who wish to become members of The Circus Studio and be entitled to vote can apply for membership by selecting the relevant ticket type. Non-members may also attend, but will not be permitted to vote at the meeting. Children are welcome to attend, but should be accompanied by an adult.

All members are entitled to view the Rules of the association.

Meeting documents
The Annual Report and meeting documents will be sent to ticket holders approximately 1 week before the meeting. If you can't make the meeting, but would like to receive meeting papers and updates, please email us and request to be added to the AGM mailing list.
