Ben is a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult) and he has grown up as a hearing person with a Deaf mum. His life is very similar to the movie CODA except he was never an American teenage girl with dreams of singing. He now works as a sign language interpreter and helps bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing worlds.

Ben was a 2002 RAW comedy national finalist where he did comedy about knowing sign language and growing up
with a Deaf mum. He has come a long way since then and now tells stories about being a sign language interpreter and growing up with a Deaf mum.

In Deaf Bridges, Ben does all of this and also teaches his audiences sign language in preparation for the Deaf revolution that he is initiating. If you ever wanted to become fluent in Auslan then this show is guaranteed to keep that dream alive. Most of the Auslan you will learn in this show will be swear words so you can show your boss what you learnt.

Ben toured Deaf Bridges to the Perth Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and Geelong Comedy Festival. He's now bringing it home to Hobart.

This show will be fully Auslan interpreted and accessible for the Deaf and hard of hearing communities.
