An insightful workshop for parents and educators!

In a world where low body image and lack of resilience seem increasingly common for children - what does it take to grow confident, kind kids who love themselves and others? Join talk therapist and well-being educator Katy Walker to explore some counter-intuitive but powerful strategies to help us foster self-assurance, grit and empathy in our young people.

Katy's MSCA webinars are highly valued by parents and educators alike.

Previous attendees said the following about our 'Allies in Anxiety' session with Katy Walker in 2024:

"What a marvellous presenter, assured, knowledgeable, respectful, and engaging".
"I loved the clear explanations and practical advice. The issues Katy talks about always feel very up-to-date".
"I really enjoyed and valued this PD as both a parent and an educator. I have already put my new found knowledge to use at home and feel more confident for it. Thank you for the opportunity".
"Katy is a very engaging presenter with clear passion and depth of knowledge in her chosen field. Katy's "real" acknowledgment at the beginning set the scene for a genuine exchange. Her presentation was easy to follow, and Katy offered scenarios paired with vocabulary, which was THE MOST useful thing in order to support our young people".

Meet Katy: I am a passionate talk-therapist, educator, leader, and parent, bringing a wealth of experience from over 15 years of working with young people in varied settings and systems. From remote Central Australia to the Adelaide Hills and the Murray Mallee region, I’ve been privileged to work in a diverse range of cultural, socioeconomic, and ideological environments. I specialise in working with adolescents (10 – 25 years of age). My areas of interest include wellbeing education, grief & loss, trauma-informed care, and suicidality.

I’m a keen advocate and ally for young people, so my commitment to their voice and experience permeates my practice. My work is underpinned by the philosophies of Person-Centred, Dialectical Behaviour and Narrative Therapies, and is also informed by attachment, trauma-informed care and emotional agility research.
