The Connection Workshop
Description
πΏ THE CONNECTION WORKSHOP
A practical morning to become more confident connecting with people β and discover what happens when you stop overthinking and start connecting.
π€ 9:30am β 1:00pm | The Place, Charlestown, NSW
Have you ever walked into a room full of people and thoughtβ¦
βI don't know anyone.β
βWhat am I supposed to say?β
βI don't want to make it awkward.β
βI'm terrible at networking.β
βI wish I was naturally good with people.β
π This morning is about challenging those stories.
The Connection Workshop is an intimate, practical workshop designed to help you become more confident starting conversations, creating genuine connections and putting yourself out there β without needing to become someone you're not.
And you won't just sit in a room and listen.
We'll learn some simple, practical connection tools, practise them together, and then head out into Charlestown to put them into action in real life. πΏ
You might feel nervous.
You might feel awkward.
You might surprise yourself.
β¨ This is about getting curious, giving it a go, and discovering what happens when you practise connecting.
π¬ WHAT WE'LL EXPLORE
We'll look at the stories we tell ourselves about who we are socially and how those stories can influence the way we show up.
We'll explore:
β¨ How your self-talk influences the way you connect with people
π How to become more intentional with eye contact, smiling and presence
π¬ How to confidently start conversations with people you don't know
β How to use simple observations and questions to open a conversation
π± How to move beyond small talk and find genuine common ground
π§ How to remember people's names
π
What to do when a conversation feels awkward
π€ How to naturally wrap up a conversation and stay connected
π± The importance of following up
Most importantly, we'll put it all into practice.
πΏ THE CONNECTION CHALLENGE
This is where we take what we've explored in the workshop and put it into real life.
You'll head out into Charlestown with a personalised connection challenge designed around your own comfort level and something you'd like to practise.
It might challenge you to:
β¨ Start a conversation
β¨ Be more present and intentional with others
β¨ Practise asking better questions
β¨ Step outside your usual comfort zone
β¨ Notice opportunities for connection you might normally miss
β¨ Or simply have a conversation with someone new
Your challenge will be personalised to you.
There is no perfect outcome, and you won't be pushed to do anything you're uncomfortable with.
The goal isn't to βperformβ or see who can talk to the most people.
It's simply to try something different, notice what happens, and learn from the experience.
We'll then come back together to share what we discovered.
π What surprised us?
π What felt easier than expected?
π What felt uncomfortable?
π What did we learn about ourselves?
π And what might be possible if we kept practising?
This is where the workshop comes to life. πΏ
β¨ THIS IS FOR YOU IF...
You want to feel more confident meeting new people.
You'd love to become better at starting conversations.
You sometimes overthink what to say.
You find networking uncomfortable or intimidating.
You want to build stronger personal or professional relationships.
You'd like to become more comfortable putting yourself out there.
Or perhaps you simply want to challenge yourself and meet some interesting people. πΏ
You don't need to be naturally outgoing.
You just need to be willing to practise.
β WHAT TO EXPECT
This is intentionally small, casual and intimate, with approximately 10 people.
Come as you are.
There will be conversation, practical exercises, laughter, some moments of discomfort, real-world practice and plenty of reflection.
You won't be expected to be the loudest person in the room.
You won't be judged on how many people you speak to.
And you definitely don't need to be a βnetworking person.β
β€οΈ We're here to practise being human with other humans.
