The CUSP polyphonic soundscape workshop will be a fun, playful, in-person adventure with Tasmanian voice coach Bec Tilley (bectilley.com). During this FREE half day workshop participants will learn how to experience their voices in non-traditional ways, to experience the co-creation of an improvised polyphonic soundscape.

This FREE workshop is part of the public program for the CUSP exhibition at Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) which runs from 17 October to 8 November 2025. The CUSP exhibition is part of an ongoing, innovative, practice-led inquiry into the 'Tune:in’ journey by Dr Merri Randell, a Queer intersectional Glenorchy artist who has exhibited around Tasmania, the mainland and internationally. The CUSP exhibition is an immersive, embodied audio-visual installation artwork, which celebrates the birth of a respectful, symbiotic relationship between humans and nature.

This workshop will take place on Saturday 18 October from 10am to 1pm and is for the Queer and Ally 18 year old+ community. You will need a ticket because the workshop space is limited to 20 people.

Bring a water bottle and dress for movement.

Please note this is NOT a public performance and there will be no video recordings. This workshop is just a safe opportunity for us to experiment and experience the joy of weaving our voices in fun, non-judgemental ways.

NB: The sound from this workshop will be recorded because our aim is to co-create a polyphonic soundscape in response to this artwork and other visual experiments. This is not a professional recording situation, just my laptop in the corner of the room. Therefore when you register for this free event you acknowledge that Merri Randell will own the copyright of the recording.
