Meet the band

Stephen Stone, vocals/guitar, is a multi-instrumentalist who also plays flute, bass, bouzouki, mandolin and a few other instruments. He has wide experience as a professional in the music industry. After a few years gigging around Adelaide in the late Sixties, he became a member of the popular Australian band, the Zoot. After that, he returned to Adelaide and enjoyed a long career (thirteen years) as guitarist and music arranger at the Norwood Ballroom. He then spent over a decade playing Greek music on bouzouki at the Iliad Restaurant and other Greek venues. He also played folk and bush-dance music for a number of years at various folk club venues, including Traitor’s Gate and the Aldgate Pump hotel. Since 2010, he has been playing electric bass for the Mount Barker Concert Band and the Mount Barker Big Band. At the same time, he plays jazz guitar at jazz jam sessions, and, as bassist, plays pop/rock music in a local band, JimJam.

Barry Moore (drums) has enjoyed a career of over fifty years playing professionally around Australia including eight years with the great Johnny O’Keefe. On coming to Adelaide, he played with numerous outfits including Barry McCaskill and the Clefs. He is currently called on to play drums in jazz jam sessions and at various pop/rock music gigs.

Barry met bassist Michael Shanahan (‘Shan’) while he (Barry) was working in an outfit with two women vocalists and a guitar player. Shan joined the band as bassist (he also plays guitar and mandolin). Seven years later Barry and Shan are still a rhythm section to be reckoned with! Shan has more than thirty-five years of experience – still playing in numerous outfits.
