NSW approves more homes than it builds. Not because of planning or approvals, but because of what happens inside building firms once a project is underway. Most can't see the true position of their own projects until it's too late. It's the reason good firms fail on good jobs, and it's the part of the housing challenge no one has measured. Until now.

This research went inside twelve NSW firms, led by Infinikey Consulting with Western Sydney University. But this event isn't a report being read aloud. It's the moment the work turns from evidence to action.

On 30 September, we'll put the findings in front of the industry, debate them with a senior panel of people who actually deliver, and, for the first time, set out what we've built on top of this research to close the delivery gap. This is where the next phase begins, and where the room helps shape it.

It matters just as much for modern methods of construction. Offsite and prefabricated delivery only prove their advantage once the operating model behind them is sound, and this research shows MMC exposes a weak delivery business rather than fixing it. Why this session is different

Most construction research ends at recommendations. This one continues. The findings are one stage of an end-to-end initiative: research inside the firms, published evidence, a designed response, and execution with the firms themselves.
