The 2023 Dementia Symposium is a must attend event for all Dementia Change
Champions, Practitioners, Service Providers, Carers and Administrators.
The focus is on the National Dementia Action Plan (NDAP) 2023-33, a joint initiative between the
Australian Government and State and Territory governments to better collaborate with people
living with dementia. NDAP places families and carers at the centre of all initiatives relating to
dementia by prioritising their needs.
The Symposium will cover discussions and topics around the following points:
- Tackling stigma and discrimination,
- Delaying onset,
- Post diagnosis support,
- Improving treatment,
- Supporting carers,
- Building workforce capability and
- Improving data, research and innovation.
The symposium will feature a keynote by Robert Day, the Assistant
Secretary responsible for the Dementia, Diversity and Design branch
at the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
