1 or 2 Day Presentation Skills Workshop

Limited tickets available. Get in now so you don't miss out!

When effective presenters speak, they do more than inform - they influence, persuade, and inspire. That isn’t down to magic or your personality; it’s method. With the right tools, anyone can build genuine connection and move a room.

This workshop is for leaders, emerging leaders, technical specialists, and professionals who want practical tools and techniques for speaking in both formal and informal settings.

Short on time? Attend 1 Day (Foundations) for all the core skills. Ready for a bigger shift? Choose 2 Days (Advanced) for one on one coaching and deeper transformation. Pick what’s right for you.

You’ll leave with the tools to present more clearly, confidently, and with the influence your role demands. This is not just for the stage. You will use these skills everyday.

The workshop format

Small group format for maximum practice and feedback (no massive groups).
Learning is adapted and personalised for maximum value (no cookie-cutter approach).
Hands on, practical learning, with easy to apply tools and techniques (no sitting around listening to theory).

The Effective Speaker - One Day Workshop (Foundations):

Tuesday 24th November

A hands-on day where you’ll learn our step-by-step SpeakerMap™ system to plan valuable presentations quickly and with ease.

You’ll learn the principles behind useful visuals, how to manage nerves, and three delivery techniques you can use immediately.

Foundations is best for technical experts who know their stuff but struggle to get it across, and nervous presenters who want a safe, practical reset.

What you’ll learn

Plan engaging content (fast)

Use the SpeakerMap™ to develop a clear Key Message and structure that keeps audiences attentive without overload.
Plan faster, make better decisions about what to include (and what to ditch).

Design useful slides (not wallpaper)

A simple but revolutionary way to design slides that support - not sabotage - your message.
Practical guidance on using AI to fast-track draft slides and create supporting documents (and how to avoid creating AI slop!)
How to use PowerPoint to keep you on track without putting your audience to sleep.

Keep nerves under control

A proven psychological approach to calm the mental chatter that causes waffling, speed talking, and blank moments.
Build a personal plan to shift focus from “me” to the audience and the outcome you want.

Deliver in a natural, engaging way

Three delivery techniques that help you look credible, be engaging and feel confident.
(For more intensive delivery coaching, check out Day Two)

Over two full days, you’ll create a significant shift in your communication skills.

Day One gives you the foundations to make presenting easier and more effective.
Day Two consolidates and extends these skills. You’ll go deeper into content planning, adapt the tools to your real work presentations, and get personalised coaching to develop your own authentic style.

You’ll also learn strategies for handling even the toughest audiences. The workshop is practical, hands-on, and focused on learning by doing - presenting, receiving coaching, and observing your peers.

If you’re ready for lasting, transformative change in your communication skills, the two-day option is the best choice.

What past participants say:

"The overall experience of the course far surpassed my expectations. I came in hoping to gain some valuable insights and tips for better public speaking, but what I received was so much more. I developed a newfound confidence in my ability to communicate effectively, learned how to captivate an audience, and discovered strategies for managing nerves and overcoming stage fright. I would recommend this effective speaking course to anyone looking to enhance their communication abilities. It's not just another course; it's a transformative experience that will empower you to become a more confident and persuasive speaker" Alex Goryachev, New Zealand Green Building Council

“This course not only met my expectations, but it completely exceeded them. This has been one of the most transformative courses I’ve attended. Jane totally revolutionised the way I now approach presentations. Having felt fear in the past each time I have to present to large groups, for the first time I now feel like I have the tools, understanding and ability to approach presentations and conquer my fear. I can’t thank Jane enough.” Nadia Marsh, Head of Bids, Tonkin & Taylor

"I have never been in such a well-run course (I've done a lot) Jane was amazing she held our attention from start to finish each day. I feel we all learnt so much and I will definitely be taking her advice on how I can improve myself. This course was well above what I expected, Jane had a great way of communicating. Typically, people tune out or lose interest by the end of the day. This was not the case for us. I honestly thing it’s the best course I’ve been on in my 4 years with WCC." Joshua Harding, Team Leader Consents, Wellington City Council

“The course is awesome. The balance between talk time, practical learning and feedback is perfect. The trainer really made the course for me - she is sensitive and responsive to people’s needs and is genuine in her approach to give the learners as much out of the time as possible. A very polished and well-planned course.” Huia Grey, Department of Conservation

"By far the best course i have attended in any organisation, either here in NZ or abroad. The format of the course was engaging and there was a great balance between listening, engaging and participating. I look forward to using the skills used presenting at our next Team Hui!"

Matthew Townsley, Medical Council of New Zealand

"Really great course, no pressure environment with a good mix of interactive and book work. Have walked away feeling more confident in how I am going to put my presentations together."

Jessica Stokes, Emergency Management Team, New Plymouth District Council

"It was good, practical and useful tools "not rules" for business comms and pressos. Good to learn some of the other things you don't often learn in traditional presentation skills training. Really good engagement and interaction - the team were impressed we were all engaged right until the end! Easily one of the best courses I have been on in this line of work. Keep up the good work! "

Brad Stansell, Channel Account Manager, Pax 8
