Event description

What is ELEV8?
ELEV8 is a five-workshop, longitudinal leadership program specifically designed by The Liminal Space to elevate the capabilities and effectiveness of participants via the study of eight critical tools they need in their toolboxes:

  1. Exploring/adapting their unique leadership style
  2. Forming and leading high-performing teams
  3. Effectively leading change
  4. Building healthy workplace cultures
  5. Leading important conversations
  6. Guarding wellbeing
  7. Amplifying motivation and self-efficacy
  8. Enhancing resilience and grit

Who is the target audience?
ELEV8 is unlike any other leadership program in Australia. It's a genuinely vertical program that targets aspiring and existing leaders from Western Australian Government, Catholic and Independent schools and systems. The program sees teachers and non-teaching staff joining first-time, middle, senior and executive leaders in the same room - learning with and from one another!

How large is the cohort?
The ELEV8 cohort is restricted to a maximum of 30 participants.

What are the workshop dates?
ELEV8 is convened over 5 workshops spanning a 6-month timeframe. Workshop One represents a full day (9:00am - 4:00pm) of professional learning whilst Workshops Two through Five are half days (8:30am - 1:00pm).

Workshop One: Friday, 7 March 2025 (Term 1, Week 5) from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Workshop Two: Monday, 31 March 2025 (Term 1, Week 9) from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm*
Workshop Three: Thursday, 1 May 2025 (Term 2, Week 1) from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm*
Workshop Four: Wednesday, 28 May 2025 (Term 2, Week 5) from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm*
Workshop Five: Tuesday, 17 June 2025 (Term 2, Week 8) from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm*

*Note that workshops two-four are followed by lunch and Program Travel Partner conversations.

Who is the facilitator?

The program and its workshops are designed and facilitated by Dr Shane Glasson (Founder, The Liminal Space).

Where is the venue?
All workshops are facilitated in The BHP Billiton Room on the first floor of The Katitjin Centre at The Australian Institute of Management, Western Australia (AIM-WA) - the state's premier Leadership and Management training facility. AIM-WA is located at 76 Birkdale Street, Floreat WA.

What does ELEV8 cost? The cost of The ELEV8 Leadership Mastery Program is AUD $1,400 (ex-GST) per participant or AUD $280 (ex-GST) per workshop. The per participant fee is discounted by 33%, usually $2,100 (ex-GST).

What's included?
Workshops are research-based, facilitated and interactive and offer practical insights and strategies to enhance leadership effectiveness.

Micro Actions
One way of achieving this aim is through micro-shifts in participant thinking and behaviours, over time leading to significant changes in leadership style. This aspect of the program is based on the wisdom of James Clear, author of the 2018 New York Times best-selling book Atomic Habits.

For each program workshop, participants are encouraged to determine a micro action - a small, simple, but powerful shift in leadership behaviour to implement in their unique contexts for at least a 90-day period. Habitualised changes have the power to "shift the rudder of their leader ships". The five micro actions associated with the program culminate in the creation of a 15-month development plan.

Program Travel Partners
Between workshops, participants will work with a colleague from their cohort, a Program Travel Partner (PTP), using a coaching approach. These conversations also allow participants to reflect on key workshop learnings and the efficacy of program micro actions. Although travel partners determine the frequency of their conversations, it is recommended that they meet between workshops to maximise reflection and learning.

Hard Copy Library
The program fee includes a hard-copy leadership library comprised of five texts, one for each program workshop upon which theory and activities are based. The texts are:

  1. Workshop One: Atomic Habits by James Clear (2018)
  2. Workshop Two: The Culture Code by Daniel Coyle (2018)
  3. Workshop Three: Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek (2017)
  4. Workshop Four: Originals: How Non-conformists Change the World by Adam Grant (2017)
  5. Workshop Five: Grit - The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth (2016)
