The Elixir of Love - a comic opera
CoOpera are once again coming to Adelaide to bring a favourite opera to the Burnside Ballroom.
The Elixir of Love, by Gaetano Donizetti has become well known as a wonderful story of love, passion, and a little bit of magic!
Director Stephanie Acraman returns to show her own form of alchemy after the success of Puccini's Gianni Schicchi in 2022. Alongside Stephen van de Hoek they will also co-direct the music, with Stephen's skills displayed prominently on the grand piano.
A cast of emerging and established opera singers, all from South Australia will lead the story-telling, displaying a big level of talent. You will hear tunes that you know and love, and be introduced to some striking new ones.
Playing for three performances at the beautiful, historic Burnside Ballroom, this is an event to not be missed!
Bring along your picnic hamper, and bottle of.. anything you like, a bunch of friends and make it an occasion.
