At their core, emotions are simply "energy in motion". Biochemical and energetic signals meant to move through the body to give us information about our environment, boundaries, and losses.

What happens when we suppress grief?

When grief is pushed down because life demands we keep going, that unexpressed energy doesn't disappear. It gets stored directly in the nervous system, fascia, and physical tissues. Over time, suppressed grief manifests as chronic physical fatigue, a sensation of heaviness in the chest, shallow breathing, emotional numbness, or sudden waves of overwhelm.
