The Empower Freedom Conference 2025

Join us for the 4th annual Fierce Freedom Conference! This is a conference to equip communities towards disrupting cycles of human trafficking & exploitation in their personal and professional spheres. 

What to Expect? In the morning we'll hear from father and advocate John DeMay about his son Jordan's experience with sextortion that had tragic consequences. John will also share what he wants other parents to know about protecting youth from sextortion, digital grooming, and other harms online. 

Another speaker highlight is Lacie Weatherholt, Trained Peer Support Specialist with At The Roots. Lacie will speak about the impact of trauma, and address ways to stay resilient and cope with fatigue and burnout, leading to more curious and compassionate communities.

We'll also be joined by Robert Goodland, Trained Peer Support Specialist, Regional Trauma Advisory Council Coordinator, Master Gestalist & Riding Instructor, Firefighter & Paramedic. Robert will share about his own experience coping with PTSD as both a first responder and male survivor of childhood sexual abuse as detailed in his new memoir "Beneath the Surface."

Lastly, we'll have time for a panel featuring all keynote speakers and special guest Angie McIlquham, Director of Sexual Assault Victim Services at Bridge to Hope. This interactive panel will explore survivor-centered care, prevention strategies, and the real-life impact of community support.
